Regulation of urease in Bradyrhizobium colonizing green gram (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek).

چکیده
In the present study attempts have been made to characterize urease expression in slow growing Bradyrhizobium strains TAL442 and MO5 which are endosymbionts of green gram (Vigna radiata (L.)Wilczek). It was found that urease activity in vegetative cells of both the strains was inducible unlike their fast growing counterparts. Mode of regulation in TAL442 was governed by presence of ammonia. Urease expression was also detectable in bacteroids of both the strains which was not influenced by presence of external nickel chloride in high concentration, a situation detrimental to the vegetative cells.

Symbiotic effectiveness of bacteriocin producing and non-producing strains of Rhizobium in green gram (Vigna radiata).
Rhizobium strains nodulating green gram [Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek] were found to produce bacteriocin on modified Bergersen's medium and inhibited the growth of homologous Rhizobium strains. Four bacteriocin producing and four bacteriocin non-producing strains were compared for their effect on nodulation, in planta nitrogenase activity and plant dry weight of green gram. The bacteriocin produc...
متن کاملGrowth promotory potential of the cold adapted diazotroph Pseudomonas migulae S10724 against native green gram (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek)
It is being confirmed previously the atmospheric nitrogen fixing ability of the cold adapted Pseudomonas migulae S10724 strain at the fluctuating temperatures. Therefore, net house bioinoculation experiment was performed to determine the effectiveness of inoculation of strain S10724 on the growth enhancement of native green gram (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek). The strain significantly (p < 0.05) st...
متن کاملINHERITANCE OF HYPOCOTYL COLOUR AND PUBESCENCE IN MUNGBEAN (VIGNA RADIATA (L.) WILCZEK)
The mode of inheritance of seedling color and plant pubescence was studied in two crosses among three parents, which differed for these traits. The results have revealed that purple seedling color was dominant over green seedling color and pubescence was dominant over nonpubescence. These two traits segregated independently of each other may be used as morphological markers individually for dif...
متن کاملEffect of traditional methods of processing on the nutrient contents and some antinutritional factors in newly developed cultivars of green gram [Vigna radiata (L.) Wilezek] and black gram [Vigna mungo (L.) Hepper] of Assam, India
The aim of this study was to compare the effects of various processing treatments (soaking, pressure cooking and germination) on two newly developed cultivars of each green gram (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilezek) and black gram (Vigna mungo (L.) Hepper). The present study revealed higher nutrient content in black gram than in green gram. The antinutritional factors were found to be higher in black gr...

The experiments were conducted in earthen pots lined with polythene sheet to find out the effect of different concentrations of cobalt (0, 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 mg/kg soil) on various morphological parameters, photosynthetic pigment contents and antioxidant enzyme activities on greengram (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek). Plants were watered to field capacity daily. Plants were thinned to a maxi...
